Meet the Consultant behind Barlay Consulting
Barlay Consulting specializes in providing cross-cultural services, including culture acculturation, organizational development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) workshops. Our aim is to ensure that immigrants can effectively adapt to US business culture upon arrival for optimal engagement. Our initiatives support organizations in leveraging immigrant talent to effectively integrate and engage diverse audiences.
Brian Barlay

Originally from Sierra Leone, Brian has been making waves in St. Louis for nearly a decade. As a social scientist and advocate for sustainable communities, Brian holds degrees in International Studies, Sociology, Foreign Services, An aspiring leader and lifelong learner, Brian is an The African Middle Eastern Leadership Project (AMEL) ‘21 Fellow, McNair ‘19 Scholar, Gilman ‘17 Scholar, member of 100 Black Men of St. Louis, and a 2020 fellow with Action St. Louis. Barlay is also the brain behind Missouri Young African Professionals, fostering community and leadership for African-born college students since 2018.
Brian has been at the forefront of sustainable and responsive movements, from organizing the first #EndSars protest in 2021 to leading Black immigrant community canvasses for elections. From co-founding Africa Day Summit 2021, to being a NextGen fellow with Foreign Policy for America in 2023 and USGLC’s NextGen Global Leaders Network 20223, his influence is boundless. Mr. Barlay is well connected in the St. Louis's ecosystem, he is an alumni of Regional Business Council’s Leadership 100 as well as an emerging leader alumni from FOCUS St. Louis.
